      GOLF

Surrounded as it is by some of the most stunning mountain scenery in the province, the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club is rapidly becoming a principle hub for social activity in Kitimat. But first and foremost, it is an extremely challenging semi-private, 18-hole, par 71, golf course in the best British Columbian tradition.

With its variety of specially designed holes, the Hirsch Creek golf course always presents its patrons and members with a true confrontation of nature, weather, wildlife and the distractions of what is arguably one of the most scenic layouts in B.C.

In the club house, the pro shop offers a great variety of golf equipment, merchandise and specialty items, while the 19th Hole Lounge and the spacious Grill Restaurant with its wide sundeck attract a wide community clientele for lunches, dinners, socializing and scenery watching, summer and winter. The club hosts tournaments, scrambles and championships at all levels.

With its practice greens, extensive driving range, and rentals - golf equipment, motorized and pull carts, the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Clubs welcomes all golfers, from beginners to experts.

Golfers need to be aware they share this northern course with a wide range of wildlife including  black and grizzly bears, moose, deer, eagles, geese, squirrels and native birds and seabirds,  as well as the Hirsch Creek club’s mascot, the fox, a famous ball thief.

While reservations are recommended, it is often possible to play at Hirsch Creek weekdays with only a short wait.
